This page describes what the Passkey Lifeboat application actually does. It is written from the behaviour of the code, not from a template.

What you are asked

The guide asks which problem you have, which service it concerns, and a small number of factual questions needed to choose a documented next step. Passkey Lifeboat itself never asks you to type a password, a passcode, a verification code, a recovery code, a recovery key, or any account identifier such as your email address or phone number. Nothing of that kind is collected or sent anywhere by this site.

Some steps in the guide tell you to enter a passcode or a password on the account provider's own screen — for example, to unlock a device or to change an account password. That entry happens on the provider's own page and goes only to that provider. Passkey Lifeboat never receives it, sees it, or stores it.

Where your answers go

Your answers stay in your own browser. They are not sent to Passkey Lifeboat, to any provider, or to any other service. There is no account, no login and no server-side record of your session.

Browser storage

To let you refresh the page without losing your place, the application saves your current progress in your browser's local storage under the key passkey-lifeboat-session-v1. This data stays on your device and is removed when you choose Start over or clear your browser storage. If your browser blocks local storage, the guide still works but your progress will not be kept after a refresh.

Network requests

The application requests only its own files from this website: the page, its stylesheet, its scripts, and the checked knowledge files under /data/knowledge/v1/. It makes no requests to advertising, analytics, tracking or third-party services. When you click an official provider link, your browser opens that provider's own website, and that provider's privacy policy applies from that point.

What is not collected

• No analytics or telemetry.
• No cookies.
• No advertising or tracking pixels.
• No account identifiers or credentials.
• No server-side storage of your answers.

Changes

If this behaviour changes, this page will be updated to match. The application's source and its checked knowledge files are versioned together.
